It is important to palpate the foot for tenderness, as well as to examine the dorsalis pedis and posterior tibial arteries, and also compare the warmth and circulation in the foot with the opposite side. The leg and foot should also be tested for any numbness or weakness. This firm tense cystic swelling over the dorsum of the right foot was due to ganglion.
